Math: This week we started on multiplying and dividing decimals. We also had our book club meetings this friday.
Science: Were working on life science this week.
Reading: We started on Mrs.basil frankweiler and quest.
Social Studies: We are working on maps this week. We are also working on inferences.
This week we met our book club members and talked about our books. We got all the way to chapter 12 in The Lighting Theif. We worked on finding area of triangles and turning parellagrams into triangles in Math. In science we did science stations for biotic and abiotic factors. In Social Studies we are starting to watch CNN 10 Kids News we also are starting an island project where we have to build our own island from our imagination ti is going to be so much fun!
Friday, we got new books from our amazing sponsors. In math this week we started our shape collection that will be expanding throughout the year. In Reading and/or ELA we read more on our novel Percy Jackson the Lighting Thief and Mr. Welling has announced that we will not always have questions with each chapter. In Science we did a really fun google slideshow presentation about biomes where our teacher Mrs. Kirkpatrick chose groups and the first one in each group she called would come up and pick up a face down card and whichever one you got you had to do a google slideshow presentation on. In Social Studies we had our five themes of geography vocabulary quiz on Friday.
Math- This week in Math we had a quiz and worked on our Review for the test on Friday.
Math- This week in math we are learning how to simplify ratios into a unit ratio.
Math- This week in math we worked on turning ratio tables into factor puzzles. Also the differences in basic and ratio tables.
Science- This week in science we worked more on the Scientific Method and on Friday we did a cup challenge with our new table patterns.
Reading/ELA- This week in ELA we learned about Perseus and that we are getting new books called the Shrouded in Myth books. We also worked more on Mrs. Frisbey and the rats of NIMH
Social Studies- This week in Social Studies we worked on our quiz and review packets on geography. We also got our results on our continents quiz.
Math- This week in math we worked on graphing rate tables and rate triangles and ended the week with a quiz.
As part of out Classroom Economy a few students will be working together to post a weekly blog. This will update parents and the community on what is happening with Ms. Bryan's Homeroom class!
